HUMANITY AND THE ABYSS

A collection of dark fantasy inspired Bosses, Traits, and Collectibles. Made for FIST: Ultra Edition by CLAYMORE RPGs. Compatible with similar systems. Inspired by FROM SOFTWARE's games Dark Souls, Dark Souls II, and Elden Ring. 

 This supplement includes:

- 3 high-level Bosses with powerful items to loot. 

- A Merchant NPC, a battlefield scavenger that offers items once held by enemies. 

- 4 new Covenant Traits, which can be tied to the bosses included or used on its own. covenants replace the normal advancement with a modified version of the XP system, where characters trade in Covenant Items found in the mission area to advance. In return, these covenants offer game-changing abilities. But you can only ever choose one...

- Another 4 new traits capturing different builds and playstyles. MERCILESS makes characters into into unstoppable killing machines fueled by their own violence. ADAPTABILITY gives characters that rely on items an edge in combat. GIANTKILLER lets the strong, bulky characters hold their own against massive foes. And HANDHOLDER is for those who prefer to let their teammates do the work. 

- A New Weapon Tag, BLEEDING, that makes weapons build up unnoticeable wounds that can cause massive damage. 

- 5 new collectibles for altering your character's very soul. Respec your advancements (or save them up for later, or share them with someone else), steal war dice from bosses (and fellow players), and more.

So there should be something for everyone in here, either directly or just by lifting certain mechanics. This was not an attempt to adapt or translate anything specific from the games that inspired it, but more an exploration of certain mechanics from the series through the language of FIST. In the end, I noticed that I keep making Dark Souls inspired traits and stuff, so I collected it all here.  I hope this connects with some of you who may also sit in the middle of a pop culture venn diagram like this.  I actually have been working on collecting this for months, I just finally decided to stop being such a perfectionist, and just whip up some placeholders for the unfinished art. Maybe I'll come back and finish up the art, but the content is complete. Anyways, enjoy and have fun.
