FEAST #7: RUNECARVER

“A twelfth I know: if I see in a tree a corpse from a halter hanging, such spells I write, and paint in runes, that the being descends and speaks." 

Odin speaks these words in the “song of spells” in The Havamal. Language has power, and these runes are how the Master Carvers gave the ephemeral power of words a more permanent form.

RUNECARVER is the seventh installment of the FEAST series of unofficial trifold supplements for FIST by CLAYMORE RPGs, inspired by the RATIONS series. 

RUNECARVER is a trait that allows the user to wield runic magic, inscribing runes onto anything - creatures, items, body parts, places, and more - to bestow powerful magical effects onto the inscribed surface. The effects are chosen by the user, but collaboration is encouraged to ensure fairness. 

This trait is essentially a hack or a port of a game that i love, 18XX RAGNAROK by Deep Light Games.  Someone in the FIST discord expressed interest in a rune wizard trait and i was inspired to translate one system i love into another system i love, because that's how my brain works.

The system of runes and the examples were originally written by Diego Barreto. I encourage anyone who would donate for this supplement alone to go give that game your three bucks first.
